Membrane grommet for demanding cable installations

The MC25/27 multi-hole grommet is a professional solution for routing and sealing multiple conductors simultaneously in installations requiring the highest level of protection. Thanks to its membrane design, it enables fast and secure passage of cables through switchgear enclosures and control cabinets.

Construction and materials

The grommet body is made of high-quality thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which provides excellent flexibility while maintaining service durability. The material is completely halogen-free and silicone-free, making it environmentally friendly and compliant with the latest European standards.

The membrane is a key structural element - its flexible structure allows for easy creation of holes for conductors of various diameters without the need for additional tooling. This significantly simplifies installation compared to traditional solutions.

The base frame has been reinforced with galvanized steel, guaranteeing mounting stability and corrosion resistance. This design ensures long-term reliability even in harsh environmental conditions.

Operating parameters and compatibility

The grommet offers an IP67 protection rating, meaning full resistance to dust and short-term immersion in water. Additionally, it meets IP66 requirements with bent conductors, maintaining tightness even during cable manipulation.

The operating temperature range is from -40°C to +100°C, allowing for use in both cold storage and industrial conditions with high temperatures. The material retains its mechanical properties throughout this entire range.

The design allows for routing a maximum of 27 conductors in various diameter configurations:

• 4 conductors with a diameter of 5-7mm,
• 4 conductors with a diameter of 8-12mm,
• 13 conductors with a diameter of 10-14mm,
• 4 conductors with a diameter of 14-20mm,
• 2 conductors with a diameter of 20-26mm.

This flexibility allows for optimal use of available space while maintaining full tightness.

Compliance and certificates

The product meets the requirements of the RoHS directive regarding the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The UL94-V0 flammability rating ensures the self-extinguishing properties of the material, increasing the fire safety of the installation.

The grommet is designed for mounting in standard FL21 cutouts (type C holes), which simplifies integration with existing switchgear systems. The mounting holes have a diameter of 9,5mm for standard mounting screws.

Installation and operation

Express installation consists of simply piercing the membrane and inserting the cable - the entire process takes a few seconds without the need for additional tooling or sealing. Double sealing guarantees the maintenance of the declared IP protection rating even during intensive conductor manipulation.

External dimensions are 222×92×43mm with a weight of only 213,4g. Availability in grey RAL7035 allows for matching the aesthetics of most electrical installations.
