The NPort 5110 is the bridge between the serial interface and the Ethernet network. It enables the connection of devices with an RS-232 interface to the network, eg barcode readers, scales, magnetic card readers, telephone exchanges, etc. The server can work in several modes, depending on the application needs. A driver is delivered with the NPort, which allows the emulation of the COM/TTY, ports in the operating system, the device can work as TCP Client/Server and UDP Client/Server. Model 5110 can also work as an Ethernet Modem, and in the so-called Pair-Connection Mode, i.e. it allows you to connect any two devices with RS-232 via the Ethernet network.
