SOLAR 40 solar system control module 067084

Intelligent solar energy management in NIBE heat pump installations

The SOLAR 40 module serves as a key component integrating solar collectors with the central heat pump controller. Thanks to it, the solar-thermal heating installation operates as a cohesive system - the user manages solar energy within the same interface used to operate the heat pump. The module communicates directly with the heating unit controller, retrieving data on current heat demand and optimizing the solar circuit operation in real time.

Compatibility and scope of compatibility

The device is designed to work with NIBE F1145 and F1155 heat pumps (including PC versions), as well as the VPAS buffer tank. In a typical configuration, the SOLAR 40 module is part of a larger NIBE Solar 1145/VPAS FP215 solar package - alongside FP215 P panels (vertical mounting) or FP215 PL (horizontal mounting) and the SPS10 pump station. The buffering function built into the entire system balances the heat pump's on/off cycles, allowing for more stable installation operation and reducing compressor wear.

Operating parameters and construction

The module operates in the 47-63 Hz frequency range at a rated voltage of 90 V. The housing dimensions are 35 × 40 × 20 cm, and the device weight is 4 kg - its compact form facilitates installation in a boiler room or technical room. The housing fits within a volume of 0,028 m³, allowing for installation even in limited spaces. Solar control is implemented via the aforementioned heat pump controller - the SOLAR 40 functions as a communication adapter between the solar sensors and the central management system.

Functional features and access to operating parameters

Thanks to integration with the heat pump controller, the user has access to solar functions and temperature readings in exactly the same way as other heating installation parameters - without the need to operate a separate panel. Optionally, data is also available via the SMS 40 remote control. The system prioritizes the use of solar energy for both domestic hot water heating and assisting building heating - the heat pump only starts when solar energy is insufficient. This solution maximizes the share of free renewable energy in the household's energy balance.

The manufacturer of the module is NIBE-BIAWAR Sp. z o.o. based in Białystok - a company specializing in the production of heat pumps and solar solutions for residential and commercial buildings.
