The white 1-gang AS frame is a mounting component designed for installers who need to quickly and precisely mount modules in backboxes. Its design requires no additional tools – the spring-loaded claws with snap-in bases hold it securely in place, while the quick-release cover allows for tool-free installation and removal. This not only saves time but also reduces the risk of damaging the module during work.

With dimensions of 84×84 mm and a depth of 10 mm, it follows the standard AS series profile, ensuring full compatibility with all modules in this series – from standard switches to grounded sockets. Installation is possible both horizontally and vertically without needing to reorient the frame – the frame system works like Lego blocks, allowing unlimited configurations.

Practical details that make a difference in real-world use

On the rear side of the base, you’ll find an engraved measuring scale – this helps accurately determine the correct insulation stripping length before connecting to the terminal. A small feature, but one that significantly reduces errors on-site. The side cable exit allows you to verify that wires are properly clamped – without needing to remove the frame. You can see this immediately, even when the backbox is already mounted in the wall.

Terminals are marked with a two-color system (silver/gold), instantly indicating which terminal is for the live supply wire. No guessing or checking diagrams is needed – just look. Additionally, the spring-loaded claws are self-returning and protect the installer’s fingers from pinching during installation – no need to manually “slide” the frame into place.

Safety and flexibility

The frame is made from high-impact-resistant plastic (IK03) and contains no halogens, reducing the risk of toxic gas release during overheating. The standard protection rating is IP20, but with an optional sealing kit (available separately), it can be upgraded to IP44 – ideal for bathrooms or kitchens.

The current channel covers in sockets prevent children from inserting metal objects – this is not just an aesthetic feature, but real safety.
