Dual Computer Socket with IDC Terminals – For a Clean, Safe Installation
This socket is not just a network cable connection point—it’s an element that combines functionality with precise installation. Designed for indoor use, it has an IP20 protection rating, meaning it’s resistant to accidental contact with fingers or small objects, but it is not intended for damp or outdoor environments. Installation is performed in a flush-mounted backbox; the clips and screws ensure stable, vibration-free mounting in the wall, even after years of use.
The IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection) terminals are the key feature. No stripping of cable insulation is required—simply insert the cable directly into the terminal, and the metal blades cut through the insulation to make contact with the conductors. This is faster, cleaner, and less error-prone than traditional screw terminals. For the installer, it saves time; for the user, it delivers a more stable connection that doesn’t degrade over time.
Category 5e ensures bandwidth up to 1 Gbps—sufficient for home networks, IP TV, VoIP, or office data transmission. The lack of shielding is not a drawback: in typical residential and office installations, where cables are isolated from interference sources (e.g., power lines), additional shielding is unnecessary. Proper twisted-pair geometry and correct installation are sufficient.
Aesthetics Without Compromise – Fits Any Interior
The frame is finished in ecru—a neutral tone that doesn’t draw attention but also doesn’t disappear against the wall. Ideal for monochromatic, industrial, or classic interiors. In the Impresja series, other colors are available: from white to gold metallic—all sharing the same design: a subtly convex square shape that adds depth without excessive glare.
The socket measures 71×71 mm—the standard size for a double-faceplate. It can be installed individually or as part of multi-gang frames alongside other elements: power sockets, TV sockets, or dimmers. Together, they form a cohesive system—without the need to mix brands or styles.
Why It Works
- IDC Terminals → Tool-free installation, faster and more repeatable.
- No Shielding → Unnecessary in home networks; avoids unnecessary complexity.
- Ecru Color → Doesn’t disrupt interior design; complements white, gray, and pastel walls.
- Standard Dimensions → Fits existing backboxes and OSPEL frame systems.
- IP20 → Safe for use in dry rooms—bedrooms, offices, living rooms.
No special tools or additional components are needed. This socket performs equally well whether installing a single cable or a full telecommunications system. Simple? Yes. But only after installation do you truly appreciate the difference.
