Hotel Switch with Illumination – Simple Solution for Service Facilities

An illuminated switch with orange backlight functions as a “hotel card” switch – inserting the card into the socket activates power, and removing it automatically turns it off. This solution, well-known in hotels and guesthouses, is increasingly used in apartments, holiday homes, and even student dormitories. The backlight is not just aesthetic—it clearly indicates whether the device is active, making it easy for users to navigate in the dark.

Threaded terminals ensure a secure and durable connection—no need to worry about loose ends after years of use. Simply insert the wire and tighten the screw. Flush mounting requires a backbox with a minimum depth of 60 mm, but thanks to its compact design (71x71x50 mm), it takes up minimal space in the wall. No additional mounting plate is needed—the entire unit is ready for direct installation into the backbox.

The backlight uses a glow lamp—it doesn’t shine brightly, but provides sufficient visibility at night. The orange color offers excellent contrast against an ecru surface, ensuring the unit remains clearly visible without being overly prominent. Ecru is a shade close to white but warmer—ideal where you want to avoid cold white tones without introducing a strong color.

The 16 A / 230 V version handles typical loads: TVs, chargers, night lamps, or mini-split air conditioners. It is not suitable for motors or heaters—and it is not its purpose. Its role is to control power in spaces where users don’t stay long and need a simple “on/off” mechanism.

IP20 rating ensures safe installation in dry areas: bedrooms, guest rooms, receptions. Not intended for bathrooms or humid kitchens. The thermoplastic material is halogen-free—no toxic gases are released in case of overheating.
