The PROJOY PEFS-EL40H-10 P2 fire safety switch is a specialized device designed for photovoltaic installations, which automatically disconnects PV panels from the system in emergency situations. Thanks to its ability to handle up to five independent photovoltaic panel strings, it constitutes a key safety element for both firefighters during fire-fighting operations and for installers during maintenance work.

Automatic Protection and Intelligent Control

The switch is equipped with an electronic tripping system that monitors the AC network status and the internal temperature of the device. In the event of a fire in a building with a photovoltaic installation, after manually switching off the AC power on the inverter side, the device automatically isolates the photovoltaic panels from the rest of the system, effectively eliminating dangerous DC voltage reaching up to 1500V.

Automatic Shutdown at 70°C

Protects against overheating and provides an additional level of safety. The phase-loss sensitivity system automatically interrupts the DC circuit in the photovoltaic installation upon loss of AC network voltage, which positively affects inverter durability and protects it from damage.

Operating Parameters and Compatibility

The device handles current up to 40A per string at an operating voltage of 300-1500V DC, making it compatible with modern high-voltage PV installations. The rated operating voltage is 600V, and the adjustment range for overload and short-circuit trippers is set to 50A. The switch is designed for operation at temperatures from -20°C to +50°C, with automatic shutdown upon exceeding +70°C.

Construction and Fire-Resistant Materials

The enclosure, with dimensions 375 × 224 × 95 mm, is made of fire-resistant materials of class V-0, resistant to UV radiation and corrosion. The protection rating IP66 (some sources indicate IP65) ensures full resistance to atmospheric conditions, enabling installation both indoors and outdoors. The device features a breathing valve preventing condensation of water vapor inside the enclosure.

The switch meets the requirements of standard EN 60947-1&3 for DC disconnectors and holds comprehensive international certificates: TUV, CE, CB, and SAA. Protection class II and the number of operations reaching 10000 cycles (over 1500 under PV1 load) confirm the high quality and reliability of the construction.
