Advanced aspirating smoke detector for fire alarm systems

The ProPoint PLUS-2OPCO detector is a conventional aspirating smoke detector designed to operate in addressable loops of Protec control panels. The device combines advanced optical detection technology with the ability to detect carbon monoxide (CO option), offering reliable fire protection. Thanks to its construction and functionality, the detector works well both in demanding industrial installations and in public buildings.

Functionality and application

ProPoint PLUS-2OPCO uses scattered optical detection (SCD) for fast and precise smoke detection. Simple installation and configuration, as well as an intuitive, multilingual menu on the LCD display, facilitate commissioning and operation. The ability to set detection in three sensitivity classes (A, B and C) allows you to adapt the detector to specific environmental conditions and the type of hazard. The built-in algorithm eliminates false alarms, minimizing the risk of unnecessary interventions.

The detector allows monitoring of air flow in each sampled tube, ensuring continuous control of the system status. Programmable input and output relays allow integration with other security systems and building automation. The ability to connect from 1 to 4 independent detection channels in one detector allows monitoring of even four zones simultaneously. The total length of the sampling tubes can reach 200 meters, making it an ideal solution for large rooms and complex installations. Compliance with EN 54-20 standard guarantees compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.

Technical characteristics and benefits

The device is characterized by low power consumption (9.6 W in standby mode at 24 V DC) and stable power supply in the range of 21-29 V DC. The current drawn from the loop is only 0.7 mA, which minimizes the load on the fire alarm system. A wide range of operating temperatures (0°C to 38°C) and high relative humidity (10-95% RH) ensure reliable operation in various environmental conditions. The IP30 protection class protects the device from access to solid objects with a diameter greater than 2.5 mm.

Thanks to four inlet ports with a total length of the sampling tube up to 200 m and a maximum sample transport time of 120 seconds, the detector provides a quick response to a threat. Programmable inputs allow remote reset, disablement or sensitivity change of the detector, as well as integration with external fault signals (e.g. power supply failure). Five programmable relay outputs (NO) with a load capacity of 1 A @ 30 V DC and one NC general fault output provide flexibility in configuring the fire alarm system. The event log stores up to 24,000 entries for all events, making it easier to analyze the causes of alarms and diagnose faults.
