PoE Network Range Extender – EXT-POEG5

This extender is a simple solution when the standard range of Ethernet and PoE (Power over Ethernet) network is insufficient. The device allows you to extend the connection by an additional 100 meters, which is particularly useful in extended IP surveillance installations, industrial camera networks, or in situations where the PoE switch is far from the power supply point.

Functionality and application

The EXT-POEG5 extender allows you to transmit both data and PoE power, eliminating the need for additional power supplies at the location of network device installations. The ability to power the device from a PoE switch (IEEE802.3af/at/bt standards) or an external power supply (48 – 57 V DC) provides flexibility in choosing a power source. Designed to operate in 10/100/1000 Mb/s networks, it does not limit connection bandwidth. Optical signaling of the operating status using LEDs facilitates diagnostics and monitoring of the device's operation.

Safety and protection

The device is equipped with a number of protections to protect connected devices and the extender itself from damage:

• Overvoltage protection – protects against sudden voltage surges.
• Overcurrent protection (OCP) – automatically cuts off the power supply in case of exceeding the permissible load.
• Short-circuit protection (SCP) – protects against damage caused by a short circuit in the circuit.

The maximum output current is 0.6 A per port, and a total of 0.8 A when powered by PoE PD INPUT or 1.15 A when powered by the DC IN socket. This allows for trouble-free power supply to most IP cameras and other network devices using the PoE standard. Additionally, the set includes mounting plates for easy mounting of the device.
