Rain sensor – intelligent water saving in your irrigation system

This rain sensor is a practical solution for both homeowners with private gardens and professionals involved in irrigating commercial areas. Its function is to automatically turn off the irrigation system during rain, which translates into real water savings and extends the life of the installation.

How does it work and where will this sensor be useful?

The RSD-BEx sensor works with most controllers with 24VAC voltage, as well as WP and TBOS™II products equipped with the TBOS™Rain sensor interface. This makes it easy to integrate with an existing system. It allows for precise setting of the rainfall threshold – from 3.2 to 20 mm – using a rotary knob. Additionally, an adjustable venting ring allows you to control the drying time, which is particularly important in the case of specific soil conditions.

Construction and installation – durability and ease of installation

The sensor is made of high-quality polymer resistant to UV radiation, which guarantees its long-term operation even in harsh weather conditions. It is equipped with a solid aluminum bracket and an arm extending up to 15.2 cm, which facilitates installation and ensures stability. A 7.6-meter extension cable (2 × 0.5 mm²) included in the set makes it easy to connect to the irrigation controller. It should be remembered that the sensor is not intended for use with high-voltage wires or devices. Its electrical parameters are 3A at 125/250 VAC. It can handle a maximum of three 24 VAC solenoid valves (7 VAC per station plus one main valve).
