Class EA Anti-Pollution Check Valve – Protection Against Backflow in Potable Water Systems

The valve ensures effective protection against backflow in water supply systems, particularly where pressure reducers, filters, or filtration stations are present. It is designed in accordance with EN 1717 as a Class EA device – intended for fluid category 2, where there is a risk of potable water contamination by substances that are not hazardous to health but may compromise water quality.

Its construction is based on a closing spring and a conical valve that opens at a minimal pressure of just 10 mbar. This ensures smooth operation without sudden pressure surges, eliminating water hammer effects and reducing noise. The 90° angle allows installation in a horizontal pipe with downward drainage – perfectly aligned with installation requirements.

The housing and all connection components are made of dezincification-resistant brass (DZR), guaranteeing long-term corrosion resistance even during prolonged contact with water of varying hardness. The ethylene-propylene-diene (EDPM) seal is compatible with potable water and maintains tightness within a temperature range of 2 to 65 °C, making it safely suitable for both hot and cold water systems.

Connections feature conical external BSPT-R threads (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1), ensuring standard, proven compatibility with most fittings and pipes. A Kvs value of 15 indicates low pressure drop – the valve does not significantly restrict flow, even at higher flow rates.

DVGW certification for water confirms its approval for use in potable water installations within the EU. There are no FM, UL, KIWA, or VdS certificates – however, this does not affect the fact that it meets the mandatory requirements of EN 1717 for Class EA.

Installation is simple: simply tighten it between filters and pressure reducers. Horizontal installation with downward drainage is recommended, along with the installation of shut-off valves on both sides to facilitate maintenance and inspection. No additional piping or auxiliary devices are required.

The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years from the date of production – one of the longest among similar solutions on the market. This is not only a symbol of confidence but also proof of material and construction stability.

Not suitable for gases or heating systems. It has no counterweight and operates solely based on pressure and spring force. The surface remains raw – it is neither lacquered nor covered with any protective layers.
