EA class anti-contamination check valve, 1/2 inch, internal-external thread RV277-1/2A
Anti-backflow valve Class EA, 1/2 inch
The valve provides protection against backflow in potable water installations, particularly where devices such as pressure regulators, filters, or reduction-filtration stations are present. This is an independent safeguard compliant with standard EN 1717, preventing contamination of the central network by water returning from end-use devices.
Construction and Operation
The valve operates on a pressure principle – it opens at a minimum pressure of 10 mbar, ensuring smooth flow under low loads. It closes via a spring, preventing water backflow even with small pressure differences. The 90° angle allows for easy installation in confined spaces, and both connections (internal and external) have an identical length of 28.5 mm, facilitating symmetrical connection.
The housing and internal components are made of dezincification-resistant brass (DZR), ensuring long-term corrosion resistance in potable water conditions. The seal made of EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene) is resistant to temperatures from 2 to 65 °C and chemical action – safe for potable water and compatible with heating systems.
Applications and Advantages
- Compliant with DVGW – meets German standards for potable water.
- Suitable for high-pressure systems with a maximum working pressure of 25 bar.
- Ensures good flow with low pressure loss thanks to a Kvs value of 6.
- Standard tapered gas connection BSPT-R (ISO 7-1) – compatible with most European installations.
- Raw surface finish – no surface coating, eliminating the risk of protective layer detachment and ensuring no impact on water quality.
- 5-year warranty – from the date of manufacture, confirming construction durability.
No UL, FM, KIWA, or LPCB certificates – not intended for US markets or gas systems. Do not use in heating (CO) or gas installations.
