Protection of the installation against mechanical contaminants

This device is designed for installation in potable water systems where it is crucial to retain solid particles such as rust, sand, or hemp fibers. Thanks to the use of a stainless steel filter mesh with 100 µm openings, the filter effectively separates contaminants from the flowing water, protecting sensitive valve components and end-use devices from damage. Contaminants accumulate at the bottom of the bowl, allowing for easy removal without the need to disassemble the entire device.

The cleaning process is simple and does not interrupt the water supply to the installation. It is sufficient to open the ball valve to flush out accumulated sediments through a 6 mm drain. This design ensures continuous system operation even during maintenance. The bowl made of polyamide (PA) is transparent, facilitating visual inspection of the degree of contamination and timely initiation of service actions.

Construction and operating conditions

The filter housing is made of dezincification-resistant brass (DZR), ensuring durability in a water environment and preventing crevice corrosion. BSPT-R (tapered) threaded connections with a nominal diameter of 1 1/4 inch (DN 32) allow direct installation in gas or water pipes without additional adapters. The device operates at a working pressure of up to 16 bar (PN 16 class), and the medium temperature should not exceed 30°C under continuous operation (according to ETIM data), although the manufacturer permits short-term operation at higher temperatures depending on the specific installation conditions.

Attention should be paid to the required mounting orientation – the filter must be installed horizontally with the bowl facing downwards. This position is essential for the proper functioning of the backflushing mechanism and the gravitational settling of contaminants. The pressure drop at nominal flow is approximately 0.5 bar, which at a flow rate of 6.7 m³/h does not generate significant energy losses in the system.

Application and operational benefits

The main advantage of this model is the ability to maintain continuous water supply even during the cleaning process. Thanks to the ball valve enabling sediment discharge, the user does not need to disconnect the filter from the installation or interrupt its operation to remove accumulated contaminants. The transparent polyamide bowl allows for quick inspection of the contamination level without disassembling the device, significantly simplifying service planning.

Materials used in production guarantee long service life under demanding installation conditions. The stainless steel mesh with precisely selected 100 µm openings effectively retains typical mechanical contaminants, while EDPM rubber seals ensure tightness and resistance to aging under water exposure. The entire unit has been manufactured in accordance with requirements for devices in contact with potable water, confirming the safety of using the product in water supply installations intended for human consumption.

The product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty lasting 5 years from the date of production, which is an additional advantage when selecting a solution for durable hydraulic installations. Due to the absence of a built-in pressure reducer and pressure gauge, the device focuses exclusively on mechanical filtration, offering simplicity and reliable operation.
