3-way mixing valve, flanged, straight-through, DN 100, PN6, kv=160 DR100GFLA
Application and Operation
The DR100GFLA 3-way mixing valve is designed for precise temperature control of water in heating and air conditioning systems where mixing of supply and return water is required. It operates via a rotating regulating plug that controls the flow ratio between the heat source and the return, thereby achieving a constant, set supply temperature without the need to adjust boiler or pump output. It can be installed on either the supply or return pipe; whether it functions as a mixing or diverting valve depends solely on the connection method.
The medium is water or a water-glycol mixture up to 50%. The valve is approved for operation at temperatures ranging from 2 to 130 °C, making it suitable for both low-temperature and traditional systems. The maximum working pressure must not exceed 6 bar (PN6), corresponding to standard conditions in most residential and commercial buildings.
Construction and Reliability
The housing is made of GG 20 (GJL-200) cast iron, a material offering high resistance to mechanical loads and corrosion in water systems. The surface is protected by a primer coating, preventing rust formation during installation and operation. The connections are flanged with a nominal diameter of DN 100 and an identical outer diameter (100 mm); all three ports are identical, facilitating installation and reducing the risk of installation errors.
The flow characteristic is linear for the bypass and equal-percentage for the main channel, enabling smooth, precise regulation without abrupt flow changes. The Kvs value is 160 m³/h, indicating high flow capacity with low pressure drop, which is critical in systems with large circulation loops. Leakage does not exceed 1% of the Kvs value, guaranteeing minimal leakage even during prolonged operation.
The rotating plug is chrome-plated, providing resistance to sediment buildup and valve jamming. The plug position indicator is clearly visible, facilitating manual control or service diagnostics.
Installation and Operation
The valve has no fittings; it requires direct flanged connection to pipes using bolts and gaskets. The length of each connection is 135 mm, a standard value for DN100 flanges. The net weight is 28.8 kg, requiring appropriate handling during installation, but it is not excessively heavy for a standard installation team.
Operation requires a rotary electric actuator (e.g., VMM/M6061 or VRM/M7061) with a torque of 30 Nm. There is no built-in drive; it is designed "for actuator" mounting, offering flexibility in control selection (manual, building automation, etc.).
The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years from the date of production, confirming the structural stability and material quality.
