Application in heating and air conditioning installations
This three-way angular mixing valve has been designed for precise water temperature regulation in heating systems and air conditioning installations. Its main task is to mix hot water from the heat source circuit with cooler return water from the installation, allowing for the desired heating medium temperature to be achieved. Thanks to its constant percentage flow characteristic, the device ensures a linear relationship between the rotation angle and the flow rate, which facilitates cooperation with control automation and guarantees stable operation of the entire system.
The valve is suitable for circuits where continuous liquid flow regulation is required, e.g., during heat buffer charging, underfloor heating temperature regulation, or in cooling systems. The working medium can be water or a water-glycol mixture (up to 50% concentration), in accordance with the VDI 2035 standard. The device operates in a wide temperature range, from +2°C to +130°C, making it a universal component for most standard water installations.
Construction and key technical features
The key to the long and failure-free operation of this model is its solid construction made of grey cast iron GG 20 (GJL-200). This material provides resistance to corrosion and high pressures and has additionally been protected with a primer layer. Inside the body is a chrome-plated rotary plug, which not only increases resistance to mechanical wear but also prevents sticking and blocking of the mechanism even after long periods of inactivity.
It is worth noting the sealing system based on double O-rings. Thanks to this, the valve leakage does not exceed 1% of the Kvs value, which is a result that allows for efficient operation with minimal energy losses. Importantly for installers – the external sealing ring can be replaced without the need to drain the entire water installation, which significantly shortens service time and reduces repair costs.
The flow through the valve is controlled by a tee with a nominal diameter of DN 32, with internal threaded connections having an outer diameter of 32 mm (equivalent to a 1 1/4" thread). However, all three connections have the same mounting length of 70 mm, which facilitates planning the layout of components in tight technical spaces. The nominal flow rate (Kvs) is 16 m³/h, and the pressure class is PN 6.
Compatibility and operating conditions
The device is compatible with popular VMM and VRM series electric actuators (e.g., models VMM20, VMM30), which are mounted directly onto the valve body. The solid mounting of the actuator and the visible position of the valve plug facilitate diagnostics of the system's operating status even without access to the control panel. The manufacturer also offers a 5-year warranty on this product from the date of manufacture, which constitutes an additional advantage when selecting components for durable building installations.
