4-way mixing valve PN6, DN 100, flanged, KVS=160 ZR100FA
Application and Operation
The 4-way mixing valve ZR100FA is used for regulating water temperature in heating and HVAC systems where a precise mixture of hot medium and return flow is required. It operates by moving a stem nozzle, which automatically adjusts the flow proportions between the heat source (e.g., boiler) and the system return—thereby achieving a constant, set mixture temperature. Ideal for systems requiring smooth regulation, such as underfloor heating or radiators with low-temperature circuits.
Medium: Water or water-glycol mixture up to 50% — no risk of condensation at temperatures from 2 to 130 °C. Working pressure up to 6 bar (PN6), meeting standard requirements for central heating systems.
Construction and Installation
The body is made of GG 20 cast iron (GJL-200), ensuring durability and corrosion resistance in humid conditions. All four flanged connections have the same diameter DN100 and length 135 mm — facilitating installation in parallel or symmetrical piping arrangements. Connections comply with DIN EN 1092-2, and the surface is protected with a primer.
The electric actuator requires a torque of 30 Nm for full stem travel — ensuring compatibility with most standard control actuators. Operation occurs over a 90° angle, and the flow characteristic is equal percentage — guaranteeing stable and linear regulator response.
Net weight: 32.4 kg. Dimensions: height 278 mm. Connections are identical — no need to distinguish between inlets and outlets during installation.
Advantages and Operating Conditions
- 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture — confirmation of build quality and materials.
- Maximum differential pressure at 20°C: only 0.08 bar — indicating the valve is designed for systems with low pressure differences between sides, typical in systems with low-power circulation pumps.
- Leakage rate: maximum 1% of Kvs=160 — meaning very low losses when closed, ensuring effective stream isolation.
- Allowable glycol content up to 50% — enables use in antifreeze systems without valve replacement.
- No through stem — the "mixing" construction prevents direct flow between inlets, allowing only controlled mixing.
- Suitable for high-flow systems (Kvs=160) — ideal for larger buildings or commercial facilities.
