This Schneider Electric Altivar 320 frequency inverter is a reliable solution for controlling motors in simple industrial and commercial machines. Designed to power synchronous and asynchronous motors with a power of up to 0.37kW (0.5HP) and a current capacity of up to 1.5A, it is suitable for applications such as packaging machines, short-range conveyors, mechanical actuators, and lifting devices. The integrated EMC filter ensures electromagnetic compatibility, and the IP20 protection degree protects against the ingress of solid objects.

Design and functionality

The inverter is characterized by a compact book-style design, which facilitates mounting in automation cabinets and saves space. The possibility of integration with GV2L07 protection allows for optimization of installation costs and wiring. The device supports a network voltage of 380…500V AC at a frequency of 50/60Hz. Thanks to the ability to operate in all quadrants of the coordinate system, it offers high flexibility in configuration. The integrated braking module (chopper) is not included in this version, but the device is adapted to work in demanding industrial conditions.

Communication and protocols

Altivar 320 offers a wide range of communication possibilities, which facilitates integration with automation systems. Supported protocols include Modbus, CANopen, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET IO. Additionally, it has Industrial Ethernet and RS-485 connections. Interfaces for connecting a PC and other hardware connections are also available, providing flexibility in configuration and diagnostics. The built-in PLC controller (Altivar Logic) with 50 function blocks allows for the implementation of advanced control applications without the need for additional controllers.
