Frequency inverter for a wide range of applications
This Schneider Electric Altivar 320 frequency inverter is a reliable and durable solution for controlling synchronous and asynchronous motors. Designed for simple industrial and commercial machines, such as packaging machines, short-distance conveyors, mechanical actuators, and lifting devices, it offers optimized machine design while reducing costs. Its compact design enables efficient use of mounting space, and advanced communication modules ensure integration with various automation architectures.
Design and operating parameters
The inverter is adapted to operate in demanding conditions – it withstands temperatures up to 60°C and meets high environmental resistance standards (3C3 and 352 according to EN/IEC 60721-3-3). Standardly designed for heavy-duty applications (HD), it offers 1.5 x In overload for 60s every 10min and a maximum torque of 200% Mn, minimizing the risk of incorrect selection. An integrated braking module (chopper) increases the functionality of the device. The device operates at a supply voltage of 525…600 V AC and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, and its rated output current is 1.7 A, allowing it to power motors up to 0.75 kW / 1 HP. The maximum output frequency is 599 Hz.
Communication and safety functions
Altivar 320 offers wide communication possibilities thanks to built-in CANopen, Modbus RTU ports and FDT/DTM technologies. A range of communication modules and libraries compliant with PLCOpen are also available, facilitating integration with control systems and shortening commissioning and diagnostics time. Additionally, the inverter allows the use of five certified safety functions: STO (Safe Torque Off), SLS (Safely Limited Speed), SS1 (Safe Stop 1), SMS (Safe Maximum Speed) and GDL (Guard Door Locking), increasing the level of safety in industrial applications. Supported communication protocols include: TCP/IP, PROFIBUS, CAN, Modbus, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET IO.
