Tropicalized current transformer for busbars

The METSECT5DA125 current transformer is a tropicalized measuring device designed for installation on busbars with high current loads. Thanks to its special IEC solid core design, it ensures reliable measurement of a primary current of 1250 A while maintaining a standard secondary current of 5 A, enabling the safe operation of meters with smaller measurement ranges.

Electrical parameters and accuracy class

The device offers two accuracy classes adapted to different application requirements. Accuracy class 0.5 provides a maximum power of 15 VA, ideal for precise measurements in control and monitoring systems, while accuracy class 1 allows for the use of a full apparent power of 20 VA, which is suitable for standard measurement applications.

The overcurrent factor FS 5 guarantees safe operation even during momentary current overloads, and the conventional free-air thermal current of 60 kA ensures short-circuit withstand capability at a level of 2.5 Ith. The insulation voltage of 3 kV and impulse voltage of 3 kV meet the requirements for installations up to 720 V AC at a frequency of 50/60 Hz.

Mechanical design and compatibility

The transformer features an opening with dimensions of 65 × 32 mm, allowing for mounting on busbars of standard dimensions. The compact design with external dimensions of 90 × 94 × 40 mm and a weight of 0.636 kg allows for space savings in electrical switchboards.

Mounting is performed using insulated locking screws, which ensure secure attachment to the busbar without the need for additional mounting elements. Double secondary terminals offer various connection options for different mounting profiles, facilitating installation in existing systems.

Environmental conditions and regulatory compliance

The tropicalization of the device guarantees reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions within a temperature range from -25°C to +50°C and relative humidity from 0% to 95%. Electrical insulation class B and the IP20 protection rating ensure safe operation in standard industrial conditions.

The transformer meets the requirements of international standards IEC 61869-2 and German standards VDE 0414, and holds CE and EAC certificates confirming compliance with European technical and product safety regulations.
