Current transformer PowerLogic DIN 250/5 cable diameter 27 or busbar METSECT5MA025
Professional measurement solution for electrical installations
The PowerLogic DIN current transformer is a tropicalized measuring device designed for professional load monitoring in electrical installations. Model METSECT5MA025 ensures safe measurement of high current intensities while maintaining full galvanic isolation between the primary circuit and the measuring instruments.
Electrical parameters and measurement accuracy
The device operates with a rated primary current of 250 A and a secondary current of 5 A, providing a standard ratio of 250/5. It offers two measurement accuracy classes: class 0.5 at a maximum power of 6 VA and class 1 at a maximum power of 8 VA, allowing for the selection of optimal parameters depending on application requirements.
A safety factor of FS=5 guarantees reliable operation even during momentary overloads, and a short-circuit thermal current (Ith) in free air of 15 kA ensures resistance to fault conditions. The peak withstand current reaches 2.5 Ith, making the device resistant to the effects of short circuits in the installation.
Mechanical design and compatibility
The transformer features a compact design with external dimensions of 56×80×63 mm, facilitating installation in switchboards with limited space. The device is tropicalized for busbars and cables, ensuring reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions.
The maximum external cable diameter is 27 mm, allowing for the measurement of conductors with significant cross-sections. The design is compatible with dual outputs for busbar trunking systems with dimensions of 32.5×10.5 mm or 25.5×15.5 mm. Mounting is possible on a DIN rail, mounting plate, or directly onto the busbar using clips or insulated screws.
Safety, operating conditions, and quality certificates
The device provides a high level of safety thanks to the galvanic isolation separating the primary circuit from the measurement path. Electrical insulation class B and an insulation voltage of 3 kV guarantee safe operation even at high system voltages up to 720 V AC.
The IP20 protection rating protects against contact with live parts and access to solid bodies larger than Ø12.5mm. The device operates stably in ambient temperatures from -25°C to +60°C with a relative humidity of up to 95%, enabling use in diverse environmental conditions.
The transformer meets the requirements of international IEC and VDE0414 standards regarding measuring transformers. It holds CE and EAC certificates confirming compliance with European quality and safety standards.
The product is covered by Schneider Electric's Green Premium program, which means meeting the highest ecological standards and full compliance with RoHS directives regarding the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
