The PowerLogic METSECT5DA080 current transformer is a tropicalized measuring solution designed specifically for high-load busbar installations. The device enables safe measurement of 800A current with a 5A secondary output, making it ideal for industrial applications requiring precise load monitoring.

Measuring parameters and accuracy class

The transformer provides an accuracy class 0.5 at a maximum apparent power of 12 VA, and an accuracy class 1 at 15 VA. The overcurrent factor FS 5 guarantees safe operation even during significant surges and load spikes.

The transformer features dual secondary outputs, allowing for the simultaneous connection of different measuring devices or protection systems. The rated secondary apparent power is 15 VA, ensuring adequate performance for a wide range of measuring instruments.

Mechanical and installation design

The device is designed as a busbar window current transformer with opening dimensions of 65 × 32 mm. The compact design with external dimensions of 90 × 94 mm (width × height) allows for installation in limited switchgear space.

Mounting is performed using an insulated locking screw, which ensures a stable connection to the busbar and provides additional electrical insulation. The frame has a depth of 40 mm, and the total construction depth is 87 mm.

Operating conditions and environmental resistance

The tropicalized design guarantees reliable operation in temperatures from -25°C to +60°C at a relative humidity of 0-95%. Electrical insulation class B and the IP20 protection rating ensure safe operation in harsh industrial conditions.

The device withstands a conventional free-air thermal current of 48 kA and a dynamic withstand current equal to 2.5 Ith. The rated insulation voltage is 3 kV, and the impulse withstand voltage is also 3 kV.
