The PowerLogic METSECT5MA015 current transformer is a tropicalized solution designed specifically for busbars and cables in power systems. The device enables precise current measurement of 150 A while maintaining a standard secondary signal of 5 A, making it an ideal component for energy monitoring and management systems.
Design and mounting compatibility
The robust window-type design allows for the installation of cables with a maximum outer diameter of 27 mm, while ensuring compatibility with dual busbar trunking systems measuring 32,5 × 10,5 mm or 25,5 × 15,5 mm. Compact external dimensions (56 × 80 × 63 mm) and a weight of approximately 0,3 kg facilitate installation in switchboards with limited space.
The device offers universal mounting options - it can be installed on a DIN rail, mounting plate, or directly onto a busbar. The design features an insulated mounting screw and robust secondary connections made as screw terminals.
Electrical parameters and measurement accuracy
The transformer is characterized by a high measurement accuracy class. In the class 0.5 configuration, it provides a maximum apparent power of 3 VA, whereas in the class 1 configuration, it achieves an apparent power of up to 5 VA. The rated secondary apparent power is 4 VA, which guarantees stable measurement conditions even under varying loads.
The saturation factor FS 5 protects the device from the effects of current overloads. The conventional thermal current in free air (Ith) is 9 kA, and the dynamic withstand current reaches a value of 2,5 Ith. The maximum safety factor is set at 5.

The device has been adapted for operation in harsh environmental conditions through tropicalization. The operating temperature range is from -25°C to +60°C, with a relative humidity within the range of 0-95%. The electrical insulation class is class B.
The transformer meets the requirements of international standards VDE 0414 and IEC 61869-2, holding CE and EAC certificates of conformity. The enclosure protection rating is IP20, and the rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 3 kV. The operating voltage does not exceed 720 V AC at mains frequencies.
