PowerLogic DIN 200/5 current transformer cable dia 21 METSECT5CC020
Tropicalized current transformer for high current measurements
The PowerLogic DIN 200/5 current transformer is a measuring transformer designed for the safe measurement of high currents in electrical installations. The device enables current measurements up to 200A while maintaining a standard secondary current of 5A, allowing for the use of meters with smaller measurement ranges.
The transformer provides galvanic isolation of the measured circuit from the main circuit, which may be at a very high voltage, guaranteeing full safety during measurements. Thanks to its compact design with dimensions of 44×65×37mm and a through-hole diameter of 21mm, the device is suitable for switchboards and control cabinets.
Construction and technical parameters
The transformer is manufactured as a through-type model with a single primary input, without a copper busbar and snap-on mounting. The C-type design is characterized by a high electrical insulation class B and a rated insulation voltage of 3kV. The device operates at a working voltage of up to 720V AC at a frequency of 50/60Hz.
Accuracy parameters vary depending on the burden:
- Accuracy class 0.5 at 4VA
- Accuracy class 1 at 5.5VA
- Accuracy class 3 at a maximum burden of 6VA
The saturation factor is FS 5, which means a safe measurement range up to five times the rated current. The transformer ratio is a standard 200/5, and the peak withstand current in free air is 12kA.
Application and operational safety
The device fulfills three key functions in electrical installations: it enables measurements using meters with small ranges, separates measuring instruments from the main circuit, and allows devices to be placed far from the circuit, counteracting the negative influence of magnetic fields.
Mounting is possible on both a DIN rail and a mounting plate using screws or clips. The housing features a seal and a sealable cover for additional protection of the secondary connections made via the screw method.
Compliance with standards and operating conditions
The transformer meets the requirements of international standards IEC 61869-2 and German standards VDE 0414, holding CE and EAC certificates confirming compliance with European regulations. The IP20 protection rating protects against contact with live parts.
The device operates in a wide temperature range from -25°C to +60°C at a relative humidity of up to 95%, making it resistant to the harsh environmental conditions characteristic of tropicalized applications. The maximum dynamic short-circuit strength is 2.5 Ith, and the safety factor does not exceed the value of 5.
