This tropicalized current transformer from the PowerLogic series has been specifically designed for measuring current in busbars and cables with a diameter up to 26 mm. The device provides precise measurement with a primary current of 400 A and a secondary current of 5 A, making it an ideal solution for electrical switchboards and energy monitoring systems.

Design and mounting compatibility

The MB type transformer features a robust through-hole design with an opening diameter of 26 mm, allowing for installation on cables or busbars. Compact dimensions (60 × 85 × 63 mm) allow for installation in limited switchboard spaces. The device supports various types of busbars thanks to dual busbar dimensions of 40,5 × 12,5 mm or 32,5 × 15,5 mm.

Mounting is possible on a mounting plate, busbar, or standard DIN rail using an insulated locking screw, screws, or a clip. The "solid core" design ensures high measurement reliability without the losses characteristic of split-core solutions.

Electrical parameters and measurement accuracy

The device offers two accuracy classes tailored to different measurement applications. Class 0.5 at a maximum power of 6 VA ensures the highest precision for advanced energy monitoring systems. Class 1 at 8 VA is suitable for standard measurement applications in switchboards.

The saturation factor FS 5 guarantees safe operation even during significant transient overloads. Current processing is performed while maintaining high insulation (3 kV) and resistance to impulse voltages (3 kV). The conventional free-air thermal current is 24 kA, and the dynamic withstand is 2.5 Ith.

Operating conditions and regulatory compliance

The tropicalized design enables operation in a wide temperature range from -25°C to +60°C at a relative humidity of 0-95%. Electrical insulation class B and an IP20 protection rating ensure safe operation in difficult environmental conditions.

The device meets the requirements of international standards IEC 61869-2 and the German standard VDE 0414, and holds a CE certificate confirming compliance with European directives. The maximum operating voltage is below 720 V AC at a frequency of 50/60 Hz.

The device weight is only 0,348 kg, and the standard warranty period is 18 months.
