Solution for connecting thick conductors on a DIN rail
This component, mounted directly onto a standard TH-35 mm (DIN) rail, is used for the safe and durable branching of electrical circuits with large cross-sections. It is designed for installations where it is necessary to connect conductors with cross-sections from 35 to 240 mm², making it a key component in industrial switchboards and emergency power systems. Thanks to the use of a screw connection, the connector ensures stable electrical contact even at very high currents, achieving a rated value of up to 850 A.
Application and material compatibility
The device has been designed with mounting flexibility in mind – it supports both multi-core and stranded conductors (with or without ferrule ends). The internal design features bridged tiers, which eliminates the need for additional external jumpers and simplifies cable routing in tight switchboard spaces.
The connector accepts conductors made of aluminium (AL) and copper (CU), allowing for the connection of different types of cabling at a single branching point. The operating range includes conductors with a thickness from 35 mm² up to a maximum of 240 mm² for multi-core conductors, or up to 185 mm² for stranded lines without ferrules. The component fits perfectly on a TH-35 mm profile DIN mounting rail, which is the standard in modern switchboards. Each level contains 4 terminal holes, enabling the connection of four independent circuits or the creation of an extensive branched network.
Safety and operating conditions
The yellow-green color not only facilitates the identification of grounding or neutral functions in complex installations but also meets rigorous safety standard requirements. The insulation is made of thermoplastic material, which is characterized by resistance to high temperatures – the device can operate in a range from -80°C to +80°C. The rated voltage is 1000 V, providing a large safety margin for low-current and medium-voltage installations.
It is worth noting that the product does not have an Ex-e explosion-proof certificate, therefore it should not be used in explosion-hazard zones without additional protections. The lack of a requirement for a closing plate facilitates quick access to the terminals during service inspections or installation upgrades. The mounting pitch width is 37 mm, and the total length of the component is 106 mm, allowing for precise layout planning in the switchboard cabinet. When designing the layout, its dimensions and the fact that the maximum operating current is 850 A at a voltage of up to 1 kV should be taken into account.
