The SOFAR BTS 5K battery module is an energy storage component designed to work with SOFAR HYD and ME series hybrid inverters. This compact, modular battery has a capacity of 5.12 kWh, enabling storage of excess energy generated by a photovoltaic system for use during periods of low production—such as at night or during cloudy weather.

LiFePO₄ technology ensures stability and safety: lithium iron phosphate batteries are less prone to overheating and fire risk compared to other lithium-ion types. They also offer long service life—up to 6000 full charge/discharge cycles at 80% depth of discharge, translating to over 10 years of operation under typical household conditions.

Built-in BMS (Battery Management System) continuously monitors voltage, temperature, and state of charge of each cell, ensuring optimal cycle management. Automatic protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overheating, and overcurrent operates without user intervention.

The module is exclusively compatible with SOFAR HYD 5K–20KTL-3PH and ME 5K–20KTL inverters, guaranteeing seamless integration and efficient energy management. It does not operate independently and requires connection to the control unit BTS 5K-BDU.

Integrated design enables easy installation and scalability: up to four modules can be connected in a single system, achieving a maximum capacity of 20 kWh. Click-to-Connect cables simplify rapid wiring without manual conductor installation.

Dimensions: 708 x 420 x 170 mm, weight: 50 kg—the module can be floor-mounted in a basement, garage, or technical room. Protection rating IP65 allows installation even in humid or dusty environments.

Rated power: 2.5 kW, maximum charge/discharge current: 35 A—sufficient for most household loads such as refrigerators, lighting, heat pumps, or air conditioners. Energy efficiency reaches 95%, meaning minimal losses during energy conversion.

In sleep mode, self-consumption is extremely low and does not significantly impact available energy reserves during day or night. Operation is simple: single-button on/off control and remote monitoring via app, enabling battery status tracking without physical access to the unit.

The module requires no active cooling—it operates passively without fans. Communication is via CAN and RS485—standard interfaces for photovoltaic systems.
