Application and Performance in Large Installations
The SOFAR 125KTLX-G4 three-phase inverter is designed for commercial photovoltaic power plants, solar farms, and large industrial installations. Its nominal power is 125 kW, enabling efficient energy conversion from large-scale PV systems. A key design feature is the presence of 10 independent MPPT trackers, providing installers with significant flexibility in system design. This allows connection of up to 20 strings, optimizing performance even when panels are partially shaded or have different tilt angles.
The device's maximum efficiency reaches 98.75%, translating into a tangible increase in annual energy production. The wide input voltage range (from 180 V to 1000 V) and high allowable input current (up to 40 A per MPPT) ensure compatibility with modern modules exceeding 500 W. Furthermore, it permits DC-side overload up to 150%, which is a significant advantage when installing panels with a higher rated power than required by the inverter.
Safety, Durability, and Protective Functions
Safe operation under harsh weather conditions is ensured by an enclosure protection rating of IP66 and corrosion class C5. This means the device can be mounted directly outdoors, even in locations exposed to salt fog or heavy rainfall. Inside, an active air-cooling system effectively dissipates heat, maintaining stable operating temperatures even under high loads.
The device is equipped with a range of advanced protective functions:
- AFCI (Active Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) – detects and extinguishes electrical arcs, minimizing fire risk.
- PID Protection – the PID recovery function restores the efficiency of modules degrading under DC voltage stress.
- Integrated Protections – the inverter features a built-in DC disconnect switch and Type II surge protective devices (SPD) on both the DC and AC sides.
- Additional protections include safeguards against short circuits, overloads, overheating, islanding, and reverse polarity.
Monitoring and Communication
Installation management is facilitated by an intuitive mobile app and web platform, enabling real-time remote monitoring of inverter operation. The device comes standard with RS485 and Bluetooth interfaces, simplifying local configuration without the need for additional cables. For remote access, optional communication modules are available: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 4G.
Thanks to the I-V Curve Scan function, installers can quickly diagnose faults in individual module strings without physically checking each panel. Historical data is stored for up to 25 years, and the installation process is simplified by the "Plug&Play" system and a dedicated drawer facilitating AC cable connections. The device operates within a wide ambient temperature range: from -30°C to +60°C.
Construction and Compliance with Standards
The device holds the VDE-AR-N 4110 certificate, confirming its compliance with rigorous standards for large solar power plants connected to medium-voltage grids. Thanks to its compact design and relatively low weight (approximately 75 kg) for this power class (125 kW), transportation and installation should pose no problem for professional installation teams. The enclosure dimensions are approximately 695 mm in height, 970 mm in width, and 325 mm in depth, allowing for efficient use of mounting space. The manufacturer's warranty covers a period of up to 12 years (depending on registration conditions), ensuring long-term stability of investments in the industrial sector.
