Underground Cable and Infrastructure Locator – Precision and Versatility in Location

The LKZ-2500 locating set, consisting of the LKN transmitter and LKD detector, is an advanced tool designed to locate, identify and trace the routes of objects buried in the ground. This system will prove useful in many industries – from energy and construction, through telecommunications, to water and sewage works and geodesy. It allows for precise location of cables and wires (power, control, IT and telecommunications), underground lightning protection elements, cathodic protection installations, as well as pipelines (water, sewage, gas) and heating installations.

The LKZ-2500 system offers flexibility thanks to the ability to work in two modes: passive (without a transmitter) and active (with a transmitter). In active mode, the locating signal can be introduced in three ways: galvanic (via wires), clamp-on (inductively using clamps) and inductive (using the transmitter's internal antenna). This allows you to adapt the location method to the specifics of a given object and working conditions.

Functionality and Mobility with the Sonel LKZ Mobile Application

The LKD-2500 detector works with the dedicated Sonel LKZ Mobile mobile application, which significantly expands the device's capabilities. The application allows not only to visualize the object's route based on the compass and signal level readings, but also to save routes with GPS data, export them to other devices and share them with other users. Additional application features include measuring the distance to the route point, viewing saved parameter values and the ability to add notes to routes.

Construction and Practical Application

The LKN-2500 transmitter is characterized by the ability to work in direct galvanic connection mode or inductive mode (internal antenna), as well as cooperation with transmitting clamps. The LKD-2500 detector operates at frequencies of 8 kHz and 32 kHz in active mode (Signal) and 50 Hz/60 Hz (Power) and 2-65 kHz (Radio) in passive mode. The suitcase housing provides convenient transport and protection of the device during field work. The standard set includes all necessary accessories: wires, ground probe, crocodile clips and power supplies. Optional transmitting clamps of various diameters and a short handle for increased comfort are also available.
