Fire-protective acrylic sealant for wall gaps

Single-component, intumescent acrylic sealant that begins to expand and swell at temperatures above 120°C, forming a barrier against the spread of fire and smoke. Suitable for indoor applications where fire resistance up to EI 120 is required — and according to some sources, even up to EI 240 (4 hours), when used with a PE primer.

Provides sealing in gaps between walls, sections, ventilation ducts, or around cable penetrations. The minimum recommended gap width and depth is 5 mm — ideally, both values should be equal. The accepted maximum deformation is 10%, allowing its use in locations with slight movement or vibrations.

How it works and where it is applied

• Expands upon heating — not only stops fire but actively blocks the passage of smoke and flames through physical structural change.
• Good adhesion — adheres to concrete, brick, plaster, and other porous surfaces without additional priming (although for highly absorbent substrates, applying a primer is recommended).
• Paintable — after complete drying (surface layer forms in approx. 20 minutes), it can be painted. However, a test on a small area is advised.
• Water-resistant after curing — does not dissolve in moisture, ensuring stability in indoor conditions.
• Maintains flexibility — remains flexible after curing, preventing cracks under minor structural movements.

Application conditions and limitations

• Installation temperature: from +5°C to +30°C. Do not apply on cold or wet surfaces.
• Operating temperature: from -20°C to +80°C — suitable for most indoor environments, even in areas with slight temperature fluctuations.
• Application: apply using a sealant gun. It is recommended to protect the edges of the gap with masking tape before application — this ensures clean smoothing and avoids mess.
• Cleaning: uncured product can be removed with water; cured product must be removed mechanically only.
• Limitations: not suitable for external applications or for gaps narrower than 5 mm.
