Demineralizer for heating and cooling systems – protection against corrosion and scale
This water treatment unit for heating water, consisting of a SYR 3200 connection set and a 30L tank filled with ion exchange resin, is key to the long-term reliability of your system. The device effectively removes mineral ions from the water, performing a desalination process, protecting pipes, valves and other components from scale and corrosion. This translates to a lower risk of failure, extended system life and stable operating parameters.
The demineralizer is particularly important in closed heating and cooling systems, where poor water quality can lead to serious problems. Thanks to it, you can avoid costly repairs and replacements of elements caused by deposits or corrosion.
How it works and what you gain?
The principle of operation is based on ion exchange in the ion exchange resin. Water flowing through the tank releases calcium and magnesium ions, which are responsible for scale formation, and receives ions harmless to the installation in return. The device's efficiency depends on the size of the tank (amount of resin), the quality of the supply water and the type of resin used – softening or demineralizing.
- Protection against scale: Prevents scale from depositing on system components, maintaining high energy efficiency.
- Protection against corrosion: Eliminates ions causing corrosion of metals, extending the life of pipes and fittings.
- Compliance with standards: Demineralized water meets the requirements of VDI 2035 standard, guaranteeing its appropriate quality for heating systems.
- Simple installation and operation: The device does not require connection to electricity or sewage, which facilitates its installation and use. Just regularly monitor the water flow using the built-in meter and replace the resin cartridge after reaching a certain limit.
- Versatility: Available softening and demineralizing cartridges allow you to adapt the device to the specific needs of the installation.
Important installation and maintenance aspects
Remember to install a type BA backflow preventer valve before the demineralizer, in accordance with PN EN 1717 standard. A SYR type BA 6630 or BA 6628 Plus filling valve is recommended, which automatically replenishes the water in the installation. Regular replacement of the resin cartridge is crucial for maintaining the high efficiency of the device – refer to the water flow meter readings. The choice of the appropriate tank size (30 liters in this case) should be dictated by the water demand in your installation and its quality.
