Power cable for frequency inverters
The 2YSLCY-J cable is a specialized solution designed for powering motors connected to frequency inverters. The cable’s construction ensures electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), minimizing interference and guaranteeing stable operation of equipment. The use of polyethylene (PE) insulation, compared to traditional PVC, results in lower capacitance, which is particularly critical in inverter-powered applications.
Construction and Properties
The cable consists of four cores, each with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², made of copper conforming to DIN VDE 0295 Class 5, BS 6560 Class 5, and IEC 60228 Class 5 standards. The cores are stranded in layers and protected by a double shield: an aluminum foil and a copper wire braid, ensuring high protection against electromagnetic interference. Core insulation is made of polyethylene (PE) and is color-coded as follows: black, brown, blue, and yellow-green for protective earth marking. The entire assembly is enclosed in a transparent orange outer sheath.
Applications and Operational Parameters
The 2YSLCY-J cable is primarily used in industrial installations where reliable operation of motors powered by frequency inverters is required. It complies with DIN VDE 0250 standards. The cable’s flexibility allows for easy installation even in confined spaces. Minimum bending radius:
- For outer diameter below 12 mm – 5 x outer diameter
- For outer diameter between 12 and 20 mm – 7.5 x outer diameter
- For outer diameter above 20 mm – 10 x outer diameter
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +70°C (fixed installation) and +5°C to +70°C (flexible installation). The cable also exhibits resistance to radiation up to 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (80 Mrad). Materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium, and substances that interfere with painting.
