Fire-Resistant Power Cable – Safety and Reliability in Critical Situations

This orange fire-resistant power cable (N)HXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0.6/1 kV with 14 cores of 1.5 mm² cross-section is designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire safety. Engineered for use in public buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, and tunnels, it ensures uninterrupted power supply to critical systems during a fire—including fire pumps, ventilation, emergency lighting, and other essential equipment.

The cable meets stringent fire resistance standards (up to 90 minutes), maintaining electrical functionality during critical moments. Manufactured from halogen-free materials, it minimizes the emission of toxic gases and smoke in case of fire, significantly enhancing occupant safety—especially vital in high-traffic areas or locations with vulnerable individuals.

Construction and Applications

The cable is designed for permanent installation both indoors and outdoors. Its outer sheath is UV-resistant, ensuring durability even under harsh weather conditions. Additionally, when protected against moisture, the cable can be installed underwater or underground.

Cable construction includes:

• Conductors: Made of soft stranded copper wires (RE – single-strand round, Class 1), ensuring flexibility and ease of installation.
• Insulation: Special cross-linked silicone rubber, providing high resistance to temperature and chemical exposure. Core insulation colors comply with PN-HD 308 standard, or black with white numbering for easy identification. In the TECHNOFLAME (N)HXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0.6/1 kV cable, the green-yellow protective conductor is located in the outer layer for enhanced safety.
• Core Filling: Layers of twisted cores for improved protection against mechanical damage.
• Filling Material: Halogen-free compound providing additional insulation and moisture resistance.
• Sheath: Made of halogen-free flame-retardant (HFFR) material with HM4 properties according to PN-HD 604 S1, in orange color—offering high resistance to abrasion, UV radiation, and aggressive chemicals.

The cable holds a Certificate of Conformity and Approval Certificate issued by the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – PIB in Józefów, confirming compliance with the highest safety standards. It must not be used in areas protected by fixed water-based fire suppression systems.
