Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability in critical situations
This fire-resistant power cable, designated as (N)HXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0,6/1 kV 4x10 RE, is an advanced solution designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire protection. Designed to protect people and property, it is ideal for public buildings, industrial facilities and anywhere where uninterrupted power supply in the event of a fire is critical. This cable is manufactured by TECHNOKABEL S.A. and is characterized by high fire, smoke and toxic gas resistance.
Construction and application
TECHNOFLAME series cables (N)HXH FE180 PH90/E90 0,6/1 kV and (N)HXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0,6/1 kV are designed for use in electrical installations where fire protection is a priority. They are used in facilities such as subway tunnels, hospitals, shopping centers, cinemas, theaters or stadiums – anywhere where maintaining the electrical functions of installations during evacuation and firefighting is required. Thanks to its ability to maintain power continuity for 90 minutes (PH90/E90), this cable ensures uninterrupted operation of key systems: fire pumps, smoke extraction ventilation, emergency lighting and fire lifts.
The cable has a certificate of conformity and a certificate of approval issued by the Scientific Research Center for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów. It is made of high-quality materials: soft copper wires (class 1 or 2 – RE/RM) and insulation made of special cross-linked silicone rubber or mica tape with a halogen-free plastic. The outer sheath is made of a halogen-free material (HFFR) with HM4 properties according to PN-HD 604 S1, which ensures minimal smoke emission and no toxic gases during combustion. Protective conductors (green-yellow) in the cable (N)HXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0,6/1 kV are placed in the outer layer for additional safety.
Key features and benefits
- Fire resistance: Ensures continuous operation of the electrical installation even in fire conditions for at least 90 minutes.
- Halogen-free: Lack of toxic gas emission during combustion increases the safety of people and minimizes material damage.
- UV resistance: Allows the cable to be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Flexibility: Soft copper wires make installation and cable routing in tight spaces easier.
- Universal application: Possibility of permanent laying indoors and outdoors, as well as underwater or in the ground with appropriate protection against moisture.
- Compliance with standards: Meets stringent fire safety standards confirmed by a PIB certificate.
- Conductor cross-section: Conductor cross-section of 10 mm² provides adequate current carrying capacity for many applications.
- Number of cores: Four cores allow for the implementation of three-phase circuits with a protective conductor or other connection configurations.
This cable is an investment in the safety and reliability of the electrical installation – especially where the consequences of failure could be catastrophic.
