Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability in critical installations
This power cable, designated as NHXH FE180 PH90/E90, is designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire safety. Manufactured by TECHNOKABEL S.A., it is indispensable wherever the protection of people and property is a priority. This cable is used in public buildings such as hospitals, shopping centers, subway tunnels, or cinemas, where maintaining power to rescue and evacuation equipment is crucial in the event of a fire.
Construction and properties
The cable stands out with its advanced construction providing exceptional properties. Made of soft copper wires (available in RE class - solid core or RM - stranded core), it has insulation made of cross-linked halogen-free plastic. This is important because halogen-free materials emit significantly fewer toxic gases than traditional plastics in the event of a fire. The cable jacket is also made of halogen-free material (HFFR) with high fire resistance properties (HM4 according to PN-HD 604 S1). The orange color makes it easier to identify the cable in the installation.
This cable is designed to operate in the voltage range of 0.6/1 kV and has a conductor cross-section of 35 mm². The single-core construction (1 core) makes it ideal for specific applications requiring a single power circuit.
Fire protection and certificates
The most important feature of this cable is its fire resistance, confirmed by the FE180 PH90/E90 classification. This means that the cable maintains its electrical functions for at least 90 minutes in fire conditions – both in terms of flame retention (PH90) and circuit integrity (E90). It has a Certificate of Conformity and a Certificate of Approval issued by the Scientific Research Center for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów, which guarantees its compliance with the highest safety standards.
Additionally, the cable does not propagate flame, and the emitted smoke is low density and does not contain corrosive toxic substances – minimizing the risk to health and property during a fire. The possibility of use in rooms protected by fixed fire extinguishing systems increases its versatility.
