Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability
This fire-resistant power cable, designated as NHXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 0.6/1 kV 3x2.5 RE, is a solution designed for installations requiring a high level of fire safety. Made of high-quality materials, it not only ensures reliable power transmission but also limits the spread of fire and the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire. This cable is particularly recommended for use in public buildings, industrial facilities, and anywhere where the protection of people and property is of crucial importance.
Construction and application
This cable is designed to operate in installations with a rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV. It has three cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², made of soft copper wires. The core insulation is made of halogen-free plastic, which further increases safety. The outer cable sheath is also halogen-free (HFFR), providing resistance to UV radiation and the possibility of permanent installation indoors and outdoors. This makes the cable suitable for both dry and humid conditions – with additional protection, it can even be laid in water or soil.
TECHNOFLAME NHXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 cables are ideal for use in places such as metro tunnels, hospitals, shopping centers, or cinemas – anywhere where it is required to maintain the electrical functions of installations during evacuation and firefighting operations (e.g., powering fire pumps, smoke extractors). They ensure the continuous operation of critical safety systems for at least 90 minutes in fire conditions (E90 class).
Features and benefits
- Fire resistance: The cable meets stringent standards for fire resistance (FE180), confirmed by certificates and approvals from the Scientific and Research Centre for Fire Protection - PIB.
- Halogen-free: The use of halogen-free plastics minimizes the emission of toxic gases during a fire, protecting people's health and facilitating evacuation.
- Mechanical strength: Cores made of soft copper wires ensure the flexibility of the cable and facilitate installation.
- Weather resistance: The UV-resistant coating allows the cable to be used outdoors.
- Wide application: The cable is suitable for permanent installations indoors and outdoors and for laying in water or soil (with appropriate protection).
- Ensuring continuous operation: Maintains the functionality of the electrical installation even during a fire for at least 90 minutes (E90 performance class).
- Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of European standards EN 60332-1-2 and other relevant industry standards.
