Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – safety and reliability in critical installations
This red telecommunication cable HTKSHekw FE180 PH90/E30-E90, with a cross-section of 1 mm² per core and a total of 24 cores, is designed to ensure the continued operation of safety systems in fire hazard situations. It is a key element of fire alarm, signaling systems, as well as fire automation systems. This cable not only protects against interference but, above all, ensures the maintenance of functions even during a fire and its extinguishing.
The cable is distinguished by its construction, which minimizes the risk of fire spreading. Made of halogen-free materials, it limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke in the event of a fire, which is crucial for the safety of people in the building and the protection of expensive equipment. Additionally, it meets stringent standards regarding resistance to water (PN-EN 50200 Annex E), allowing its use in sprinkler zones.
Construction and design features
The HTKSHekw cable is characterized by a careful construction ensuring high reliability and durability. Copper cores, twisted in pairs, are insulated with halogen-free plastic, which increases safety. The cable core is surrounded by a polyester tape and a static screen made of metal foil with an earthing conductor – this solution effectively protects against electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable HFFR (halogen-free) coating, meeting the standards EN 50290-2-27 and VDE 0250-214 – HM2.
Applications and compliance with standards
The cable is used in permanent installations inside buildings, where high fire resistance and the absence of toxic substance emissions during a fire are required. It is ideal for:
- Fire alarm systems
- Sound signaling systems (DSO)
- Data transmission
- Industrial electronics and automation installations
- Emergency lighting
It has a Certificate of Conformity and a Certificate of Approval issued by the Scientific Research Centre for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów, which confirms its compliance with the highest safety standards (PN-EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1-2, PN-EN 60332-3-24, IEC 60332-3-24). It also meets the requirements of DIN 4102-12 and PN-EN 50200+Annex E or PN-EN 50362. Flammability tests confirm its fire-resistant properties (FE180).
