Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – safety and reliability in alarm systems

This red telecommunication cable HTKSHekw FE180 PH90/E30-E90, manufactured by TECHNOKABEL, is designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire safety. This cable is used in alarm, signaling, teletransmission, and voice alarm systems (DSO), ensuring continuous operation even in extreme conditions. It is a key solution for buildings with stringent fire regulations, as well as for fire automation installations.

The cable is distinguished by its construction, which ensures the maintenance of function during a fire – data transmission and power supply to emergency devices, such as emergency lighting. Thanks to the use of halogen-free materials, the cable limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke in the event of a fire, which increases the safety of people and protects expensive electronic equipment. Additionally, it is water-resistant according to PN-EN 50200 Annex E, allowing it to be used in sprinkler zones.

Construction and properties

The HTKSHekw cable is characterized by careful workmanship and high-quality materials. It consists of four copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.8 mm², insulated with halogen-free plastic. The conductors are twisted in pairs and then wrapped in a polyester tape. A common static screen made of metal foil protects against electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission. The whole is surrounded by a red coating made of halogen-free plastic (HFFR), meeting the standards EN 50290-2-27 and VDE 0250-214 – HM2.

• Fire resistance: Class FE180 ensures the continuity of the circuit for 180 minutes in a flame, and PH90 guarantees functionality for at least 90 minutes during a fire.

The HTKSHekw cable is widely used in public buildings, industrial facilities, and anywhere requiring high fire resistance and continuous operation of safety systems. It is an ideal solution for permanent installations inside buildings.

It meets the requirements of standards: PN-EN 50200+Annex E or PN-EN 50362 and has a Certificate of Conformity and Approval issued by the Scientific Research Centre for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów (CNBOP-PIB-KOT-2021/0296-3701 issue 1; WT-TK-43). The operating voltage of the cable is 240 V and the test voltage is 1500 V AC.
