This power cable, marked as NHXCH FE180 PH90/E90 0,6/1 kV 4x150/70 RM, is an advanced solution designed for installations requiring a high level of fire safety. Manufactured from halogen-free materials, it ensures not only effective power transmission but also minimizes the risk of toxic gas emission and fire spread in the event of a fire. The conductor cross-section of 150 mm² and four cores make this cable suitable for applications requiring high current capacity.

Application and properties

Cables from the TECHNOFLAME NHXCH FE180 PH90/E90 series are designed for use in buildings and facilities with enhanced fire safety requirements – hospitals, shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, and stadiums. They maintain electrical functionality for 90 minutes during a fire, which is critical for the operation of evacuation and fire protection systems (e.g., water pumps, smoke extraction fans). The cable holds a Certificate of Conformity and Declaration of Approval from the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – PIB in Józefów.

Additionally, this cable is resistant to water exposure (in accordance with PN-EN 50200 Annex E) and can be installed in areas equipped with sprinkler systems. Its construction minimizes flame propagation, and emitted gases are non-toxic and non-corrosive. The ability to install it permanently both indoors and outdoors, along with UV resistance, enhances its versatility. With proper protection against moisture, the cable can also be laid underwater or underground.

Construction and design

The cable consists of several key components ensuring its exceptional properties:

• Conductors: made of soft copper strands (per PN-EN 60228), available in single-wire (RE) or multi-wire (RM) versions.
• Insulation: composed of mica tape and cross-linked halogen-free compound, marked with colors according to PN-HD 308 or black with white conductor numbers.
• Core: insulated conductors layered and twisted together.
• Filler: halogen-free material providing additional protection.
• Screen: concentric conductor made of bare copper strands and an anti-torsion spiral of copper tape, wrapped with polyester tape.
• Outer sheath: made of halogen-free material (HFFR) with HM4 properties per PN-HD 604 S1, in orange color.
