Mining Signal Cable – Reliability and Safety in Harsh Conditions

This cable, designed for mining applications, is engineered to ensure reliable signal transmission in demanding environments. It is used in control, measurement, signaling, automation, and local communication circuits within mining facilities. The cable’s construction and materials guarantee durability and resistance to external factors.

Construction and Applications

The YnKGSLY 0.6/1 kV cable features flexibility and robustness thanks to flexible Class 5 multi-wire copper conductors (compliant with PN-EN 60228). The conductor insulation is made of insulating PVC (polyvinyl chloride), with color-coded insulation facilitating easy identification of individual cores. This cable is particularly suitable for locations exposed to mechanical stress and requiring high flexibility.

It can be installed in both open-pit and underground mining facilities, while adhering to specific safety requirements:

• In open-pit and borehole mining facilities outside explosive zones.
• In underground mining facilities in non-methane and methane-bearing areas (areas with “a” degree of explosion hazard).
• In roadways classified as Class A for coal dust explosion hazard.
• In intrinsically safe circuits.

Important: This cable is not intended for power supply installations. It holds a positive technical opinion No. 05/53 and certificate No. 05/53/A1/2 issued by the TI EMAG Institute, confirming compliance with safety standards for mining applications.

Construction Features and Parameters

The YnKGSLY cable contains three cores with a cross-section of 1.5 mm². The cores are layered twisted around the cable core, which is additionally protected by a polyester tape. The outer sheath is made of special flame-retardant, self-extinguishing rubber-grade PVC (polyvinyl chloride), available in black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits). This ensures not only reliable electrical performance but also enhanced operational safety.
