Mining Signal Cable – Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The YnKGSLY 0.6/1 kV cable is a specialized solution designed for operation in demanding mining conditions. It is designed for use in control, measurement, signaling, control and local communication circuits. Its construction and materials guarantee safe and reliable operation even in the most extreme environments.

Construction and Application

YnKGSLY cables are approved for operation in both open-pit and underground workings. They can be used in methane and non-methane fields, as well as in intrinsically safe circuits. Key areas of application include:

• Mining plants (both open-pit and underground)
• Control and measurement circuits
• Signaling and control systems
• Local communication in a mining environment
• Workings threatened by coal dust explosion

It is important to remember that these cables are not intended for power installations. They have a positive technical opinion No. 05/53 and certificate No. 05/53/A1/2 issued by the TI EMAG Institute, which confirms their compliance with stringent safety standards.

Construction ensuring durability and safety

The cable is characterized by a solid construction that ensures its long-term operation:

• Conductors: flexible, stranded, made of copper wires (tinned on request), class 5 according to PN-EN 60228 – this ensures flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue.
• Insulation: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation in various colors facilitates the identification of conductors (green-yellow for the protective conductor, black and blue for the remaining conductors). In a 5-core cable, there is also a black conductor with printed numbers.
• Cable core: twisted layers of insulated conductors surrounded by a polyester tape – ensures the cable's geometric stability.
• Sheath: special self-extinguishing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with increased flame retardancy in black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits). Other colors are also available on request.

Thanks to this combination of materials, the cable is resistant to mechanical damage, moisture and the action of chemicals typical of the mining environment. The conductor cross-section is 1.5 mm², and the number of conductors is 5.
