Mining Signal Cable – Reliability in Demanding Conditions
This signal cable, designated as YnKGSLY, is designed for demanding operating conditions in mining environments. Intended for control, measurement, signaling, automation, and local communication circuits, it ensures safe and stable connections in mining facilities. This cable is available in blue and features conductor cross-sections of 2x1.5+1.5 mm².
Construction and Application
YnKGSLY cables are particularly suitable for mining environments due to their durability and compliance with safety standards. They can be used in both open-pit and underground installations, provided specific criteria regarding methane and dust hazards are met. Key application areas include:
- Open-pit and borehole mining facilities (outside explosive zones).
- Underground mining facilities in non-methane and methane-bearing fields (areas with “a” level of explosion hazard).
- Workings classified as Category A for coal dust explosion hazard.
- Intrinsically safe circuits in open-pit and underground facilities.
It is important to note that these cables are not intended for power supply installations. Their primary function is the transmission of control and informational signals.
Construction Ensuring Durability and Safety
The YnKGSLY cable features a robust construction that guarantees reliability even under harsh operating conditions:
- Conductors: Flexible, multi-stranded, made of copper wires (zinc-coated option available).
- Insulation: PVC (polyvinyl chloride) insulation in colors compliant with standards – green-yellow for the protective conductor, black and blue for other conductors.
- Cable Core: Layered twisted conductors wrapped in polyester tape for additional protection.
- Sheath: Special flame-retardant PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sheath with enhanced fire resistance – black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits); other colors available on request.
Thanks to this combination of materials, the cable is resistant to mechanical damage, moisture, and chemical agents typical of mining environments. It also holds a positive technical opinion No. 05/53 and certificate No. 05/53/A1/2 issued by the TI EMAG Institute, confirming its compliance with safety requirements applicable in mining.
