Mining Signal Cable – Reliability in Harsh Conditions

This signal cable, designated YnKGSLY, is specifically designed for operation in the demanding conditions of mining. Intended for control, measurement, signaling, control and local communication circuits, it ensures safe and stable operation of systems in open-pit and underground mines. This cable complies with strict safety standards and has a positive technical opinion from the TI EMAG Institute (No. 05/53) and Certificate No. 05/53/A1/2.

The YnKGSLY cable is used in both areas without explosion risk and in zones threatened by methane or coal dust – provided that appropriate safety requirements are met. It can be used in intrinsically safe circuits, which further increases the level of protection. However, it should be remembered that this cable is not intended for power installations.

Product Construction and Features

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-term and reliable operation. Its structure includes:

• Conductors: flexible, stranded, made of copper wires (tinned on request), class 5 according to PN-EN 60228. This ensures the cable's flexibility and facilitates its installation even in tight spaces.
• Insulation: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation in various colors, making it easier to identify the conductors. In a 3-core cable, the protective conductor is green-yellow, and the remaining ones are black and blue. In 4-core cables, a brown conductor is added.
• Cable Core: twisted layer conductors wrapped with a polyester tape for additional mechanical protection.
• Sheath: made of a special PVC compound (PVC) self-extinguishing with increased fire resistance, available in black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits).

Thanks to this combination of materials, the cable is resistant to mechanical damage, moisture and the action of chemicals found in the mining environment.

The YnKGSLY 250V 3x1.0+1.0 cable has a conductor cross-section of 1 mm². This combination of cross-section and construction makes the cable perfect for signaling applications where flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. Four conductors (3 signal + 1 protective) allow for the construction of complete control and measurement circuits. The rated voltage of the cable is 250V, which makes it safe in typical mining applications.
