Mining signal cable – reliability and safety in harsh conditions

YnKGSLY 250V 4x1.5+1.5 black cable is a specialized wire designed to operate in the demanding conditions of mining. It is used in control, measurement, signaling, control and local communication circuits. Its construction and materials guarantee reliable operation even in environments exposed to explosion hazards.

Construction and application

YnKGSLY cables are designed with the specific needs of mining plants in mind. They can be used in both surface and underground mines, meeting stringent safety standards. The applications of the cables include:

• control and measurement circuits,
• signaling and control systems,
• local communication within the mining plant.

These cables are approved for use in methane and non-methane fields, as well as in workings threatened by coal dust explosions. They have a positive technical opinion from the TI EMAG Institute (No. 05/53) and a certificate (No. 05/53/A1/2), confirming their compliance with applicable standards.

Construction ensuring durability and safety

The cable is characterized by a solid construction that ensures its long-term operation:

• Conductors: flexible, stranded copper (tinning on request possible), class 5 according to PN-EN 60228 – provide flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage.
• Insulation: made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulating material – provides effective electrical insulation and resistance to chemicals. The color of the conductor insulation makes it easier to identify individual wires (green-yellow – protective conductor, black, blue and brown – working conductors).
• Cable core: twisted layer conductors surrounded by a polyester tape – stabilizes the cable structure and provides additional mechanical protection.
• Sheath: made of special self-extinguishing, highly flame-retardant PVC sheathing material – protects the cable from weathering and mechanical damage and increases safety. Available sheath colors are black RAL 9005 and blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits).

Thanks to this combination of materials, the cable is resistant to abrasion, moisture and chemicals typical of the mining environment. The conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² provides adequate conductivity for control and measurement signals. The number of conductors is 5 (4 working conductors + 1 protective conductor).
