Mining signal cable – reliability in harsh conditions

The YnKGSLY cable is a specialized solution designed to operate in the demanding conditions of the mining industry. Designed for control, measurement, signaling, control and local communication circuits, it ensures safe and stable operation of systems in mining plants. This cable is used in both surface and underground workings, meeting the stringent safety standards applicable in these environments.

This cable is particularly useful where high resistance to mechanical damage and external factors is required. Its construction and materials guarantee reliability even in the most difficult operating conditions.

Construction and application

YnKGSLY cables are distinguished by a careful construction that translates into their durability and functionality:

• Conductors: flexible, stranded with soft copper wires (optionally tinned), class 5 according to PN-EN 60228. This ensures the cable's flexibility and resistance to bending.
• Insulation: made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation in colors compliant with standards – green-yellow for the protective conductor and black and blue for the remaining conductors (depending on the number of conductors in the cable).
• Twisting: conductors are twisted in layers around the cable core, minimizing the risk of electromagnetic interference.
• Core: wrapped with a polyester tape for additional mechanical protection.
• Sheath: made of a special polyvinyl chloride (PVC) self-extinguishing compound with increased fire resistance, available in black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 (for intrinsically safe circuits).

These cables can be used:

• In surface and open-pit mining plants outside explosion-hazardous areas.
• In underground mining plants in non-methane and methane fields in premises with degree "a" explosion hazard.
• In underground mining plants in workings of class A explosion hazard of coal dust.
• In intrinsically safe circuits in both surface and underground plants.

The cables have a positive Technical Opinion No. 05/53 and Certificate No. 05/53/A1/2 issued by the TI EMAG Institute, confirming their compliance with safety requirements applicable in mining.
