Mining signal cable – reliability and safety in harsh conditions

YnKGSLY 500V 4x1.5+1.5 yellow cable is a specialized cable designed to operate in the demanding conditions of the mining industry. It is used in control, measurement, signaling, control and local communication circuits. Its construction and materials guarantee reliable operation even in environments exposed to mechanical damage and explosion hazards.

Construction and application

YnKGSLY cables are designed with the specific needs of mining in mind. They can be used in both open-pit and underground mines, taking into account various explosion hazard zones. This makes them a universal solution for a wide range of applications in the mining industry. These cables are not intended for power installations, but only for signaling and control circuits. They have a positive technical opinion from the TI EMAG Institute (No. 05/53) and an Approval (No. 05/53/A1/2), which confirms their compliance with the stringent safety standards applicable in mining.

The cable construction includes:

• Conductors: flexible, stranded, made of copper (tinned on request), class 5 according to PN-EN 60228 – provide flexibility and resistance to repeated bending.
• Insulation: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation in various colors to facilitate identification of the conductors (green-yellow for the protective conductor, black and blue for the remaining conductors). In a 4-core cable, there is also a brown conductor.
• Cable core: stranded conductors twisted layer by layer and wrapped with a polyester tape – provides stability and protection against mechanical damage.
• Sheath: special self-extinguishing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with increased fire resistance (black RAL 9005 or blue RAL 5015 for intrinsically safe circuits) – increases safety and protects against fire.
