Insulation of the conductors with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) provides effective protection against short circuits and damage. The strands twisted together are additionally protected with a PVC jacket, and the whole is surrounded by a spirally wound armor of galvanized steel strips. An additional protective layer of black PVC increases resistance to external factors.
