The Expansion Module is an advanced solution that allows for a significant expansion of the functionality of the Thessla Green AirPack and AirPack Home ventilation unit controllers. It enables integration with various peripheral devices, giving you full control over the climate in the building and adapting the ventilation system to individual needs. This is an ideal solution for both installers who want to offer comprehensive solutions and end-users who want to maximize the potential of their HRV system.

Functionality and application

The Expansion Module opens access to a range of additional functions that increase user comfort and energy efficiency of the system. Thanks to it, it is possible to connect and control:

• Ground Source Heat Exchanger (GSHX): optimization of heating and cooling costs by utilizing energy stored in the ground.
• Channel heaters (water or electric) and channel coolers: precise regulation of the supply air temperature, ensuring thermal comfort throughout the year.
• Intake and exhaust dampers: control of airflow depending on needs, e.g. for heat recovery or providing fresh air in specific zones of the building.
• Chillers / heat pumps: integration with the air conditioning or heating system, enabling comprehensive climate management in the building.
• Signals from the fire or alarm control panel: automatic shutdown of ventilation in case of danger, increasing user safety.
• Hood or fireplace switch: automatic adjustment of ventilation operation to current needs, e.g. increasing ventilation intensity during cooking.
• Supply air duct temperature sensor: precise control of the supply air temperature and optimization of system operation.

Construction and compatibility

The Expansion Module has been designed with easy installation and integration with existing systems in mind. Installation takes place in the automation housing of the ventilation unit. The module is compatible with AirPack series 2 and AirPack Home series 3 HRV units. Communication takes place via the AirPack system bus, which ensures reliable operation and easy configuration. The device is lightweight (0.15 kg) and compact, making it easy to install even in tight spaces. Remember to choose the appropriate HRV model – the Expansion Module is dedicated to specific Thessla Green device series.
