Application and Construction Characteristics

This device is dedicated to installation in supply and exhaust ventilation systems, both in industrial and residential buildings. Its primary function is to transport dust-free air with a dust concentration below 0.3 g/Nm³ and a temperature not exceeding 40°C. Thanks to its axial construction and the possibility of wall mounting (basic version) or roof mounting with horizontal discharge (DA version), it is ideal for applications where traditional ventilation ducts are difficult to install or roof mounting is impossible. This solution is frequently chosen for ventilating stables, warehouse halls, or catering points, where ensuring hygiene standards while maintaining acoustic comfort is crucial – the noise level does not exceed 58 dBA.

A key element of the construction is the use of polyester-glass composites (laminate) for the housing, impeller wheel, and support frame. This material not only significantly reduces the load on the building structure compared to steel solutions but, above all, ensures high mechanical resistance as well as resistance to atmospheric and chemical factors. The surfaces of the components are finished with a gelcoat layer colored according to the RAL palette, guaranteeing an aesthetic appearance for years even under UV radiation. In the case of the roof version (AKWILON 500/DA), an additional support plinth under the device must be constructed.

Operating Parameters and Control

The fan is equipped with asynchronous motors with a rotating stator, supplied by the drive equipment manufacturer. Single-phase (230 V) and three-phase (400 V) power supply versions are available, with all models operating at a constant rotational speed of 900 rpm. This speed allows achieving an airflow capacity of approximately 5900 m³/h at a negative pressure ranging from 10 to 95 Pa. It is worth noting that these motors are characterized by low power consumption and are adapted for long-term, trouble-free operation.

For the purpose of airflow regulation, the possibility of smooth motor speed adjustment is provided:

• For three-phase motors, frequency inverters (FAUST type system) are used.
• For single-phase versions, alternating supply voltage regulation systems (WIR S or WIR DN series) are used.

The use of WIS type service switches and S-Z type starting and protection sets is also recommended, ensuring safe electrical connection and current protection for single-speed motors.

Quality of Workmanship and Installation Requirements

Each unit undergoes rigorous quality control before leaving the factory. Impellers are dynamically balanced in class G 2.5, minimizing vibrations during operation. This control is performed on a dynamic balancing station in accordance with ISO 2372 standard, directly in the device's own bearings. As a result, the fan operates stably and quietly throughout its entire service life.

Installation of the wall version is simple and direct – the device is mounted in the wall opening of the ventilated building, eliminating the need for additional transition accessories or complex mounting systems. This is a significant advantage for installers, saving time on the construction site. It should be noted that the device is intended exclusively for use with dust-free air; exceeding the permissible dust concentration may lead to rapid wear of rotating components and failure of the entire drive assembly.
