Roof-mounted axial fan Akwilon-500/DA/900 UNIWERSAL296
Application and Construction Characteristics
The Akwilon-500/DA/900 axial roof fan is a device dedicated to roof installation where horizontal air discharge is required. It is a solution for general-purpose supply and exhaust ventilation systems, suitable for both residential and industrial facilities. A key feature of this model is its ability to operate as an exhaust fan when mounted on a special support pedestal. This enables effective removal of contaminated air from halls, warehouses, stables, or catering points, even in locations where traditional wall mounting is impossible or not cost-effective.
The entire construction is based on polyester-glass composites (glass-fiber-reinforced resins). This material not only significantly reduces the load on the building structure but, above all, ensures high mechanical strength and resistance to atmospheric and chemical factors. The surfaces of the components are finished with a gelcoat layer colored according to the RAL palette. Such treatment protects against UV radiation, guaranteeing an aesthetic appearance for many years without the need for painting or additional coating maintenance.
Technical Functions and Drive System
The device is designed for transporting non-dusty media (dust concentration below 0.3 g/Nm³) with a temperature not exceeding 40°C. Depending on installation requirements, the fan can be equipped with an asynchronous motor with a rotating stator in either single-phase (230 V) or three-phase (400 V) versions. All units are single-speed and operate at a rotational speed of 900 rpm.
To ensure quiet and stable operation, impellers undergo dynamic balancing in class G 2.5. Each unit also undergoes quality control on a test bench compliant with ISO 2372 standard. Drive motors come from a renowned manufacturer specializing in ventilation technology, resulting in low power consumption and long device lifespan.
Smooth motor speed regulation is possible:
- For the three-phase version, a frequency converter (FAUST-type system) is used.
- For the single-phase version, alternating voltage regulation systems (WIR S or WIR DN type) are utilized.
In practice, this allows achieving a capacity of up to 900 m³/h with a static pressure rise of up to 95 Pa. The noise level generated during operation is approximately 58 dBA, enabling the use of the device in facilities requiring acoustic comfort. This fan is designed for operation in environments with temperatures up to 40°C and an allowable dust concentration below 0.3 g/Nm³.
Installation and Operational Safety
Installation of the Akwilon-500/DA type fan requires a solid support pedestal, which serves as the mounting base for the device with horizontal air discharge. Such a solution allows flexible adaptation of the ventilation system to the specific characteristics of the building roof. It is recommended to use dedicated service switches of type WIS and starting-protection sets of type S-Z, which ensure proper electrical connection and current protection for single-speed motors.
This fan excels where reliability is a priority while maintaining acoustic comfort. Its construction eliminates the need for additional accessories in the direct wall mounting process (in the case of wall-mounted versions), while the DA roof version allows efficient air discharge without disrupting the aesthetic appearance of the building facade. Thanks to the use of corrosion and UV-resistant materials, the device requires minimal service maintenance throughout its entire operational life.
