Highly durable casing.
Pre-insulated pipe for efficient hot water distributionThe Uponor ECOFLEX Aqua VIP Twin 25x3.5-20x2.8/140 double pre-insulated pipe is a comprehensive solution for building domestic hot water installations. Designed for reliability and minimizing heat loss, it is ideal for both home and commercial installations. Thanks to the "Twin" construction, two pipes are located in one protective jacket – one for supplying hot water and the other for circulation, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
The pipe is characterized by high flexibility, which makes it easy to run in complex installation systems. Made of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa), it provides resistance to high temperatures (up to 70°C, briefly up to 95°C) and a working pressure of 10 bar. The corrugated outer jacket made of HDPE protects against mechanical damage and facilitates identification. The PE-X foam insulation minimizes heat loss, which translates into energy savings and user comfort.
Construction and properties
The ECOFLEX Aqua Twin pipe consists of several key elements:
- Inner pipe: Made of PE-Xa, resistant to high temperatures and pressure. Available inner diameters are 25 mm and 20 mm, with wall thicknesses of 3.5 mm and 2.8 mm, respectively.
- Insulation: PE-X foam with a low thermal conductivity coefficient (0.004 W/(m.K)) provides excellent thermal insulation, reducing energy losses during hot water transport.
- Protective pipe: Durable polyethylene (HDPE) with a corrugated surface protects the inner pipe from mechanical damage and facilitates identification of the installation. The outer diameter of the protective pipe is 140 mm.
- Sleeve: The included sleeve allows for a tight connection of the pipes, ensuring the safety and reliability of the installation.
Additionally, the pipe has a circumferential stiffness class of SN4 and a standardized dimension ratio of SDR 7.4, which guarantees its durability and resistance to mechanical loads. The minimum bending radius is 450 mm, allowing for easy adaptation to the specifics of the installation. The lack of an anti-diffusion zone means there is no risk of oxygen migration into the DHW installation, which affects its lifespan and hygiene.
